Scott Pierce graduated from the University of Florida with a BA in History.  He entered the title industry as an abstractor for a small title agency in 1978.  Moved to Austin, TX and took a position as an examiner, then became a closer before joining a national underwriter as a sales rep.  Returned to Florida in 1988 to become the State Manager for Old Republic Title (then known as Minnesota Title).  In 1999, Scott promoted to Southeast Region Manager currently overseeing 7 states.

Patricia (Trish) Ladan, Florida State Counsel for Old Republic National Title Insurance Company is responsible for providing underwriting support and counsel to Company personnel, agents and customers, related to the issuance of title insurance commitments and policies across Florida.

As an attorney with over 20 years of experience in real estate law and title underwriting, Trish is well versed in transactional and litigation matters, having represented lenders, developers, community associations, title insurers and insureds. Prior to joining Old Republic Title, she was Senior Underwriting Counsel/Florida Associate State Counsel for a national title insurer in Winter Park, FL.  Before that, she was Managing Attorney for a real estate law firm based out of Atlanta, GA, with responsibility for its Florida Mortgage Foreclosure Department.

 Since 1997, Trish has worked for several law firms, gaining valuable expertise in the areas of education, employment, construction, environmental and commercial litigation.  Prior to becoming an attorney, she worked for the Texas General Land Office in Austin, TX, which laid the foundation for her interest and passion in real estate law.

Trish is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in government.  She also studied at the University College of London, Faculty of Laws, and earned her juris doctor degree at Quinnipiac College School of Law in Hamden, CT.  She is a member of the Florida Bar, its Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section, the Florida Land Title Association, and the Texas Bar.

Anirban Basu is Chairman & CEO of Sage Policy Group, Inc., an economic and policy consulting firm headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland with an office in Orlando, Florida.  The firm provides strategic analytical services to energy suppliers, law firms, medical systems, government agencies, and real estate developers among others.

Chair of the Maryland Economic Development Commission (2014-2021).  He serves as Chairman of the Baltimore County Economic Advisory Committee.  He also serves the chief economist function for Associated Builders and Contractors, the Construction Financial Management Association, the Modular Building Institute, the Maryland Bankers Association, and several others.

He has taught at several universities, most frequently at the Johns Hopkins University.  He currently teaches History of Economic Thought at Goucher College as their Distinguished Economist in Residence.

In 2007, 2016, and 2022, the Daily Record newspaper selected Dr. Basu as one of Maryland’s 50 most influential people. The Baltimore Business Journal named him one of the region’s 20 most powerful business leaders in 2010.

Dr. Basu is currently on the boards of the University of Maryland School of Law, St. Mary’s College, the University of Maryland Medical Center, the University System of Maryland Foundation, the Lyric Opera House and the Archdiocese of Baltimore School System.  He is also on Truist Bank’s advisory board.

Dr. Basu earned his B.S. in Foreign Service at Georgetown University.  He earned his Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, and his Master’s in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park.  He acquired his Juris Doctor at the University of Maryland School of Law.  He completed his doctoral work at UMBC with a concentration in health economics.

Marcelana (Marcie) Anthony, Vice President, Southeast Region Claims Manager and Claims Counsel for Old Republic National Title Insurance Company has been with the Company since May 2014.  A Pennsylvania native, Marcie attended Allegheny College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in political science, graduating magna cum laude in 2003.  After completing her undergraduate degree, Marcie earned her Juris Doctor at Stetson University College of Law in 2006.  For years, Marcie practiced products liability litigation before changing her career path to real property law and taking a position with another national underwriter where she served as claims counsel for years.

Marcie is a member of the Real Property Probate & Trust Law section of the Florida Bar and is a member of the Florida Bar Title Issues & Standards Committee.  Since 2011, Marcie has been an active member of the Pinellas County Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers and is currently serving as the organization’s Immediate Past President.  Marcie is now Chair of the In-House Counsel Committee for the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, the state-wide organization.  Marcie is a 2013 recipient of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers’ “Leaders in the Law” award.
